Who We Are
Our New Pastor
Olivet Baptist Church is excited to welcome Adam Mask and his family. Adam came to faith in Christ on May 16, 2010, after hearing the gospel preached at First Baptist Broken Arrow. Soon after his salvation, he began serving in prison and youth ministry at the Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Center, where he had the privilege of seeing many young men and women place their faith in Jesus Christ. In March of 2012, Adam answered God’s call to vocational ministry.
Adam began serving at First Baptist Broken Arrow in 2013 as the College and Careers Pastor while also overseeing the church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry. In 2015, he became the Campus Pastor of Community Baptist Church in Coweta, a satellite campus of FBCBA, and later became the Lead Pastor following its replant through the North American Mission Board in 2020. He is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree through Gateway Baptist Theological Seminary.
Adam has been married to his wife, Grace, since December 15, 2010. Grace has served in education for more than 30 years and is known for her gracious spirit, deep love for Christ, and faithful devotion to her family. Together they have four children: Jadyn, Ava, Tyler, and AJ.
Adam is passionate about theology, apologetics, leadership development, and church revitalization. He especially enjoys reading biographies and studying historical events, with a particular interest in the lives of U.S. Presidents. Having grown up in Austin, he is also a devoted fan of Texas Rangers baseball and Texas Longhorns football.
His philosophy of ministry is simple: engage the lost with the love of Christ, expose the lies of Satan with the truth of God’s Word, and equip believers to do the same. Above all, Adam loves spending time with his family — watching movies, playing board games, and enjoying walks outdoors together.
Our Interim Pastor
Jim and Judy Gerlt came to Olivet in late 2023 to serve in an interim capacity, and their willingness to lead during this important season has been an incredible blessing to our church family. Through their encouragement, wisdom, and Christ-centered leadership, they have challenged us, strengthened us, and helped prepare us for the future God has in store.
From the very beginning, they proclaimed, “It’s a new day at Olivet!” Through their love for our church and faithful leadership, that “new day” has become a beautiful reality as we have witnessed God moving in our midst and preparing Olivet for the next 115 years of faithful service to Him."
Jim will continue to serve as our interim pastor until our new pastor, Adam Mask, begins on August 9th.
About Olivet
Olivet Baptist Church is a traditional, nonreformed church that believes that Christ died for the sins of the world and desires that all will have the gift of salvation and the promise of heaven. We believe that the responsibility of the Church is to share the gospel with everyone – the Good News of God’s love, as proven through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus who was sinless, yet crucified for the sins of the world. This Good News brings forgiveness, salvation, restoration, guidance, hope, and the daily presence of a loving Father.
We worship in a historic place with a rich history of preaching God’s Word, worship through music, and a commitment to local, state, national, and international mission efforts. The history of Olivet has created a foundation on which we continue to build.
We are committed to sharing the love of Christ and fostering the spiritual growth of those who seek to know the Lord on a personal basis. As an inner-city church, we seek to develop awareness of the needs of those in our community; identify and create opportunities to minister and witness in this, our unique mission field; and live as examples of the immeasurable, unconditional, and unwavering love of Christ.
